1️⃣ Threads App Is Dying? 📉

Mark Zuckerberg mengakui kehilangan lebih dari separuh pengguna social media terbaru mereka, Threads App.

"If you have more than 100 million people sign up, ideally it would be awesome if all of them or even half of them stuck around. We're not there yet," he said.

At the same time, Twitter's monthly users reach a new high in 2023.

2️⃣ Rame di LinkedIn

Microsoft baru saja merilis laporan tahunan untuk para investors di minggu lalu, di mana kita temukan dua informasi menarik dari laporan tersebut.

  • Jumlah kunjungan naik sebanyak +12% (main feed +22% & public conversations +25%).
  • Penurunan revenue dari produk Marketing Solutions (ads)

Beberapa penyebabnya adalah; LinkedIn angkat kaki dari China, kondisi ekomni global, & pengurangan biaya maketing di tim internal LinkedIn.

But still, 23+ million users in Indonesia are significantly higher than Twitter's users in Indonesia.


3️⃣ DSA & Display Campaign → PMax

Google Performance Max (PMax) again! Kali ini Google memberikan pilihan kepada advertisers untuk mengganti Display & Dynamic Search Ads (DSA) campaigns mereka ke versi PMax secara sukarela. Yes, sukarela – no pressure & rush.

Few brands have seen the benefits of it, for example Shopee.

Santander mengonfirmasi hal yang sama, mereka mendapatkan hasil yang positif dari mengganti Display Campaign mereka ke PMax.

4️⃣ New Twitter, New Ad Tag

̶T̶w̶i̶t̶t̶e̶r̶ X sedang melakukan uji coba untuk menyamarkan label iklan di platform mereka 👀

Seperti kita tahu, Twitter sedang sibuk melakukan re-branding ke brand baru mereka X. Mulai dari mengganti logo, merilis website x.com, pembaruan tampilan di App Store, bahkan renovasi kantor mereka di SF.

Balik ke penggantian label iklan, apakah perubahan itu tidak menyalahi aturan? Mengingat label iklan yang baru terlihat lebih kecil dengan warna soft-grey membaur dengan background colour.

Federal Trade Commission (FTC) said:

all ads must be ’clearly and conspicuously’ signaled in-app, though previous terminology referred to ‘clearly and prominently’

We think it's ok! But obviously, we expect a higher engagement rate after X rolled out that new 'Ad' tag on their platform.
